Dr. Caruso graduated from Pennsylvania State University in State College, Pennsylvania, before going on to earn his medical degree from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

He began his postgraduate training with residencies at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and Saint Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey, Hackensack Meridian Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune City, New Jersey, and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.

After his residencies, Dr. Caruso completed two prestigious fellowships in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: one in adult and pediatric spine surgery at the University of Pennsylvania and the other in pediatric spinal congenital malformations and scoliosis surgery at Shriners Hospital for Children.

Dr. Caruso is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the North American Spine Society, and the Scoliosis Research Society. He’s also active in the New Jersey Orthopaedic Society and the American Medical Association. He’s board-eligible with the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

In his practice, Dr. Caruso has expertise in several conditions, including disorders of the neck and back, spinal stenosis, disc herniation, and degenerative disc disease. He’s highly skilled in many advanced treatments, including minimally invasive spine surgery, total disc replacement and spinal fusion surgery, and fracture care and osteoporosis treatment.

He enjoys teaming with his patients at MidJersey Orthopaedics and helping them find relief from their conditions.

Outside of his practice, Dr. Caruso enjoys traveling, playing golf and spending time with his wife, Natalie. He enjoys spending time outdoors, trying new cuisines, watching college football and college basketball, and is always rooting for his Alma mater Penn State.
